|Sissel to Appear on American Dreams|
Sissel will appear on the NBC-TV show American Dreams this Fall. This evocative drama, which won two Emmy Awards, is set against the memorable music, the cultural clashes, and the Vietnam war during the 1960s. The third-year drama depicts the American landscape -- as seen through the youthful Pryor family of Philadelphia as they brace for the cultural turbulence ahead that still resonates in this contemporary era.
Since the music of the era is such an important part of every episode, in season two, American Dreams began having contemporary artists appear on the show singing songs from the 1960s while pretending to be the original star who sang the song. For example, Jennifer Love Hewitt appeared last season as Nancy Sinatra singing "These Boots Are Made For Walking."
It will be interesting to see which classic from the 60s Sissel will sing and who she is supposed to be portraying.
For those fans in the USA, keep your eyes out for further news which will be forthcoming in the Fall/

Sissel / Lord of the Rings Tour Dates Announced
Sissel will join the Lord of the Rings Symphony Tour June 3rd in Atlanta.
Sissel will be a featured soloist on an orchestral performance dedicated to the music from one of film's greatest achievements. The Lord of the Rings Symphony, which premiered in Wellington, New Zealand in November 2003, provides an extension of the history-making movie experiences, taking audiences back to Middle Earth with composer Howard Shore's Oscar-winning score. Shore will personally conduct the orchestra on some of the concert dates.
Sissel's soaring, ethereal voice is well suited to the sweeping, epic music of The Lord of the Rings Symphony. Her vocals have been the soundtrack to filmmakers' grand cinematic visions.
The Lord of the Rings Symphony is a musical journey into the realm of Middle Earth, featuring original illustrations and storyboards of Alan Lee and John Howe. Each performance will be six movements representing the six books of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. At each performance, Sissel will perform with a symphony orchestra and choirs with 200 musicians on stage.
Howard Shore stated, "Ancient Norwegian mythology and culture had a great influence on Tolkien's work. It is very thrilling to have the Norwegian singer Sissel perform as a soloist in The Lord of the Rings Symphony. Sissel's radiant voice illuminates this work."
When asked about the tour in a recent interview, Sissel raved "I love the music. It's such a wonderful feeling to be sitting in the middle of a symphony orchestra, surrounded by the beautiful voices of the choir and all those gorgeous melodies."
Audiences have been enthralled by Sissel's "crystalline voice" (Home News Tribune). In a recent feature on Sissel in the Journal Newspapers (VA), Brian Truitt wrote "She's got pipes that would make any star soprano blush."
